Originally the client was going to hire Steve Yett’s old boss, Mike Barsocchini to do this commission. It made sense. Mike was the original architect for the house, and Mike had previously worked with the client on another house. Instead, Mike suggested that they hire steve to do the art studio remodel/addition. The client’s art mostly consists of landscapes throughout the Los Angeles/Malibu area. “Most of his subject matter is locations that I am very familiar with, having grown up here. I always enjoy seeing which locations he is going to paint next.” The main requirement was to get the most of the North light, so a commercial storefront system was placed on the North facade. “I’m sure that he gets distracted with such a nice view.... But somehow he manages to be a very prolific artist.”
